Safety-critical Systems Symposium 2016 (SSS'16) 

The Safety-critical Systems Symposium 2016 (SSS'16) was held at the Grand hotel Brighton from the 2nd to the 4th February 2016, featuring keynote talks from Martyn Thomas, Chris Johnson, Graham Braithwaite and Harold Thimbleby, invited talks from Rod Chapman, Peter Ladkin and many others, and a selection of submitted papers. 

The after-dinner speaker was Mr. Ken Smart, CBE. Ken served as the UK's Chief Inspector of Air Accidents and Head of the Air Accidents Investigation Branch from September 1990 to April 2005. He serves as Chairman of the UK Aviation and Maritime Industries Confidential Human Factors Incident Reporting Programme (CHIRP). He has been Non-Executive Director of British Airways Plc. since July 2005. He served as Non-executive Director of International Consolidated Airlines Group, S.A. since July 2005. He is a Member of the Flight Safety Foundation Board of Governors and a Visiting Professor at Cranfield University
